7 Important Jobs For Friends That Aren't in the Wedding Party

There is a lot more to a wedding than most people think. Of course there are the usual and expected participants like the bride and groom, the wedding party and the minister. When it comes to weddings, everyone wants to help and be involved somehow. You can't have all of your friends and family in the wedding party but, there are plenty of other important jobs for friends and family that aren't in the wedding.

Asking friends and family to do these jobs will make them feel important. There can only be one best man or maid of honor but, when you let others do these tasks you can feel a little less guilty. It could even make it easier to choose the wedding party, when you think of the ways other people can help.

These are some things that need to be done and most people can do them with ease.

1. Wedding reception shopper:  This job includes picking up the things you'll need for the reception like, mints, birdseed or rice, table decorations and party favors.

2. Preparing for the reception:  Putting together the individual favors and decorating, or inspecting the decorations at the reception hall.

3. Birdseed or rice bag attendant:  Making sure each guest has a bag of rice or seed to throw over the bride and groom when they leave the reception.

4. Guest Book Attendant:  Encourage everyone attending to sign and leave a special message for the bride and groom in the wedding guest book.

5. Scripture readings:  Allow one or two friends to read a verse from the bible or a poem that is hand picked by you, at the ceremony.

6. Car decorating:  This one needs no explanation and it's a lot of fun.

7. Chauffeur:  Pick up relatives and friends from the airport and help them get settled in by providing money saving tips, telling them how to get around town and where some places are located along with helping them make arrangements for any ground transportation they might need.

There are a lot of important jobs for friends that aren't in the wedding party, and as your wedding gets closer there will many other things they can do for you that will make them feel included. Although these jobs may seem small or insignificant they are important.

The Maid of Honor duties include throwing a party in honor of the bride-to-be, more commonly known as the bachelorette party or hen party. Throw your hen party one month to two weeks before the wedding so no last minute detail gets in the way. Once you are past the dinner menu and the invitations it is time to start planning the activities for the evening!
